Stone Temple Pilots will still headline their own dates

Stone Temple Pilots (STP) and Bush have canceled their upcoming joint headlining tour due to COVID-related circumstances. The bands share their own statements regarding the matter on social media.

“Due to unfortunate and unavoidable COVID-related circumstances, we will be unable to move forward with our planned Fall tour dates — including our festival appearances and our tour with Stone Temple Pilots,” Bush shares in a statement. “We cannot stress enough how heartbreaking it is to not be able to go out and play after all of this time, and after all of our attempted starts and ensuing stops over the past year and a half. We wish to extend our deepest apologies as this is the last thing we would want for all our great fans as well as our good friends in Stone Temple Pilots.⁣”

“We are of course saddened by this news, but it’s a sign of the times right now,” Stone Temple Pilots share. “That said, our headline dates starting on October 17th are still on! The only headline date that is being canceled is Oct 9th in Chattanooga, as that was during the Bush run and can no longer fit with the schedule. We’d love to see you all out there for the below dates, and we’re so very much looking forward to coming back to all canceled markets as soon as we can.⁣”

No word on what the COVID-related situation was as of press time.

The joint tour was set to kick off September 30th and play a dozen dates through mid-October. STP will now kick off their solo tour on October 17th and run through November 11th. Their updated schedule can be viewed in the Facebook post below.

The groups are the latest in an alarming number of growing acts continuing to cancel due to surges of COVID-19 cases across the country. Garth Brooks, Nine Inch Nails, Stevie Nicks, Florida Georgia Line, BTS are among those who have also canceled the completely or the remainder of their 2021 dates due to rising COVID cases. Organizers of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam have also postponed festivals due to the surge of COVID cases nationwide.

Korn, KISS, Tesla, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foo Fighters, Buckcherry, Korn, Mammoth WVH and The Cadillac Three are among those who have been forced to postpone or cancel dates due to an active case within their touring camps, including some band members themselves.
