The singer’s new single drops on August 24th
Taylor Swift is back with new music. The country-turned-pop-star has announced that she will release Reputation on November 10th via Big Machine Records with a new single dropping tomorrow (Thurs, Aug 24th) night. The label has yet to announce it, but earlier Wednesday (Aug 23rd), Swift posted several images to her Instagram confirming the news. Configurations, track listings and producers have not yet been unveiled.
The black and white album cover features Swift with slick back hair and her playful red lips. Newspaper headlines and columns are superimposed over the left side of her face, most likely a reference to the headlines the singer has made recently, including winning a sexual assault lawsuit against Denver radio personality David Mueller who grabbed her “bare ass” during a meet and greet in 2013.
Reputation will be her first album since 2014’s 1989, but not her first music since the project. Swift wrote Little Big Town’s “Better Man,” which the group took to No. 1 last year. She also teamed with Zayn Malik for “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” for the Fifty Shades Darker film and soundtrack earlier this year. The song was written specifically for the soundtrack by Swift, Malik, Jack Antonoff and Sam Dew. Antonoff also produced the song.
Last week, Swift deleted all content on her social media accounts, leading fans and the media to believe an album announcement was imminent. Swift returned to social media on Monday (Aug 21st) when she posted a cryptic ten second video of what appeared to be a snake. Two more “snake” videos followed along with the single and album announcement, including the album’s cover.
