Taylor Swift breaks UK record held by The Beatles

Swift captures her seventh No 1 record in Over the Pond

Taylor Swift has broken a 54 year record held by The Beatles in the United Kingdom for the fastest accumulation of three No. 1 albums. Swift captures her third chart-topping album in a span of 259 days with Fearless (Taylor’s Version), which follows Folklore on July 31st and Evermore on December 18th, according to Official Charts.

The Beatles’ record was in a span of 364 days between 1965-1966 with Help!, Rubber Soul, and Revolver.

Fearless (Taylor’s Version) becomes the country and pop star’s seven UK No. 1 album, and outperforms her original 2008 version of Fearless with 21k in sales. Swift is now third among female artists with the most chart-topping albums in the country, behind Madonna with 12 and Kylie Minogue with eight.

Swift’s other UK No. 1 albums are Red (2012), 1989 (2014), Reputation (2017) and Lover (2019).

Swift’s history-making Fearless (Taylor’s Version) started on its April 9th release date when she extended an unprecedented record, standing out as the only artist in history to release nine albums with sales of at least 500,000 copies in a single week [Fearless, Speak Now, RED, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and now, Fearless (Taylor’s Version)].

Thus far, tracks from the album have already generated over 300 million streams and counting. The debut of “You All Over Me (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” extends Swift’s hold as the female artist with the most charting Hot 100 hits of all time with 130 debut entries on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart. In addition, it marks her 25th Top 10 entry on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart and opened at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales Chart, making it Swift’s record-extending 16th chart leader.

The newly recorded edition includes 27 re-recorded songs, six of which are previously unreleased tracks – “You All Over Me (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” [feat. Maren Morris], “Mr. Perfectly Fine (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)”, “That’s When (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” [feat. Keith Urban] – all from (From The Vault).
