Additional awards to be handed out on live TV

Ahead of tonight’s (Sun, Nov 20th) 2022 American Music Awards (AMAs), the world’s largest fan-voted awards show, Dick Clark Productions and ABC have announced the night’s first group of winners during a special Twitter and Discord audio livestream hosted by singer/songwriter Mark Tuan of GOT7, The Hollywood Reporter’s Tiffany Taylor and Billboard’s Tetris Kelly.

In addition to winning three awards off-air, global superstar Taylor Swift is eligible to become the most decorated artist in AMAs history should she win the three awards she’s nominated for this evening, including tonight’s top honor, Artist of the Year. Swift is up against fellow world-renowned stars Adele, Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, Drake, Harry Styles and The Weeknd for tonight’s top accolade.

Swedish rock band Ghost took home the first-ever AMA for Favorite Rock Album, while Dua Lipa and Elton John won Collaboration of the Year for their hit remake “Cold Heart – PNAU Remix.” It’s John’s first AMA win since 1998 who will also be livestreaming his final Dodger Stadium concert on Disney+ later tonight.

Other top winners across genres include now 16x AMA winner Beyoncé, who’s nominated for three more awards tonight, Bad Bunny, this year’s most-nominated artist with eight nominations, first-time AMA winner Morgan Wallen and now four-time AMA winner Kendrick Lamar.

Live from the AMAs red carpet, the group revealed winners in 26 categories. The remaining winners will be announced when Wayne Brady hosts the AMAs live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 20th at 8 pm EST/PST on ABC. ABC’s On The Red Carpet at the American Music Awards pre-show will kick off at 6:30 pm PST on KABC-TV in Los Angeles and KGO-TV in San Francisco. It will also stream on OnTheRedCarpet.com and the ABC Owned Television Stations digital channels.
