The series sees country favorites look back on their time hosting the long-running awards show
Leading up to the 60th anniversary ACM Awards, hosted by Reba McEntire, the Academy of Country Music is launching “ACM Host Highlights,” a new series where some of your favorite country artists look back at the unforgettable moments and fun memories they created while hosting the helm of the longest-running country music awards show!
The series is kicking off with Lorrie Morgan, Brooks & Dunn, and Keith Urban detailing their memorable hosting gigs. Additionally, ACMs also recently launched “ACM Firsts,” a new series where artists watch and reflect on some of their first ACM memories, featuring stars such as Riley Green, Carly Pearce, Sara Evans, Miranda Lambert, and Parker McCollum, among others.
The pandemic led to Keith Urban hosting the 55th ACM Awards to an empty Grand Ole Opry house in 2020. In a recent sit-down, he relives this unique setup and what it meant for the Country Music community to come together during such a pivotal time.
On April 29, 1992, Lorrie Morgan, Clint Black, and Travis Tritt co-hosted the 27th Academy of Country Music Awards. Reflecting on the memorable night, Morgan recalls celebrating a night of music with her “buddies” and laughing with her fellow hosts over wardrobe malfunctions.
Recently, Brooks & Dunn sat down with the Academy of Country Music to chat about joining forces with Faith Hill to cohost the 31st Academy of Country Music Awards on April 24, 1996 – and the unexpected sneak peek they were given into Hill and Tim McGraw’s budding relationship.
Hosted by 16-time ACM Award-winning entertainment icon Reba McEntire, the 60th ACM Awards will stream live exclusively for a global audience across 240+ countries and territories on Prime Video on Thursday, May 8th at 8 pm EDT/5 pm PDT from Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
