‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1’ soundtrack details revealed

“This Is Not A Game” is the second track to be unveiled from the highly anticipated The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 Lorde-curated soundtrack. The track was premiered by Zane Lowe on BBC Radio and is now available to purchase via iTunes along with Lorde’s “Yellow Flicker Beat.”

“This Is Not A Game” is the first new recording to emerge from The Chemical Brothers, the pioneering and era-defining electronic duo of Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, since 2012’s acclaimed concert movie/album, the Grammy-nominated Don’t Think.

As gritty, uncompromising and forward thinking as any classic Chems’ track, the futuristic hip-hop production is met with R&B luminary Miguel’s fiery voice and Lorde’s haunting vocal cameo.

Along with this, the full track listing and cover artwork for the soundtrack have now been revealed. The soundtrack will feature unique and groundbreaking collaborations from artists including Stromae feat. Pusha T, Q-Tip, HAIM, CHVRCHES, Tove Lo, Charli XCX feat. Simon Le Bon,Raury, Grace Jones, The Chemical Brothers feat. Miguel, a special Kanye West rework of Lorde’s already released hit single “Yellow Flicker Beat,” and an additional surprise track that will be revealed soon (full tracklisting below).

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 has become one of the most talked about soundtracks of 2014. The soundtrack was first announced with the release of Lorde’s ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’ last month. As soon as it became available on iTunes, it soared to #1 on the US Soundtrack Top Songs Chart and has already surpassed four million views on YouTube. Upon impacting airwaves, “Yellow Flicker Beat” made history. It became the #1 Most Added song at Alternative Radio in the US and set a new record for “Most Adds on a Female Artist in Mediabase History”.

Lorde has firmly established herself as one of the 21st century’s most vital and vibrant young female artists. Her quadruple platinum selling single “Royals” helped earn two Billboard Music Awards for ‘Best New Artist’ and ‘Best Rock Song,’ and two GRAMMY Awards for ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Best Pop Solo Performance.’ She currently holds the record for ‘Longest #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 by a Female Artist in 2013’ and longest standing #1 for any female artist in the Billboard Alternative Chart history.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 was directed by Francis Lawrence and stars Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Woody Harrelson. The film is the latest installment in Lionsgate’s global box office phenomenon based on Suzanne Collins’ bestselling “Hunger Games” trilogy and will be released in theaters worldwide on November 21, 2014.
