The Pixies announce massive North American 2014 tour

The Pixies are set to start 2014 off with a huge tour of North America. The band will launch a 33 date tour starting on January 15th in Toronto and wrapping on March 1st in Austin, TX. The tour will see support from Best Coast, Cults and Fidlar.

The band, which parted with longtime bassist Kim Deal earlier this summer, will tour in support of their four track EP-1 which was released on September 3rd. The EP and tour includes new bassist Kim Shattuck.

A fan club pre-sale runs through Thursday, October 10th at 10 pm EST. Tickets will be available to the public on Friday, October 11th at 10 am local time through Ticketmaster. Ticket prices run anywhere from $53.45 to $73.95 depending on location and seating preference. Some venues are only selling tickets if the billing zip code on your credit card is within a certain proximity of miles from the venue, so keep that in mind if you’re traveling from out of town to see any of the shows.

The band also released the video for their single “Andro Queen” on Monday (Oct 7th). The video was conceived and directed by filmmaker Ondi Timoner through her Interloper Films production company who has won the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary Features at the Sundance Film Festival twice and has work permanently displayed at New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
