The Red Clay Strays named ACM New Duo or Group of the Year

The award was bestowed a week before the 60th ACM Awards

The Red Clay Strays were surprised with their first ACM Award win after being named ACM New Duo or Group of the Year on Monday afternoon (Apr 28th) while recording with Dave Cobb in Savannah, Georgia. The news was revealed to the band by the winningest artist in ACM history, Miranda Lambert, through a special phone call congratulating the group for winning their first ACM Award, and they were also handed an official ACM Awards envelope with their name revealing them as the winner of the category.

Last week, Ella Langley and Zach Top were named ACM New Female Artist of the Year and ACM New Male Artist of the Year, respectively.

The Red Clay Straysโ€™ win comes after self-releasing their debut album, Moment of Truth, in 2022, featuring the breakout single, โ€œWondering Why,โ€ which propelled the band into the top 10 on Billboardโ€™s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs Chart and inside the top 20 of the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart and led to the band to ink a deal with RCA Records. They then released their latest studio album produced by Dave Cobb, Made by These Moments, to universal acclaim, marking the bandโ€™s first entry in the Billboard 200. Hailing from Mobile, Alabama, the band is comprised of Brandon Coleman on lead vocals and guitar), Drew Nix on guitar and vocals, Zach Rishel on guitar, Andrew Bishop on bass, John Hall on drums, and Sevans Henderson on keys.

The Red Clay Strays will be celebrated for their ACM New Duo or Group Artist of the Year win at the 60th ACM Awards, hosted by entertainment icon Reba McEntire. The 60th ACM Awards will stream live exclusively for a global audience across 240+ countries and territories on Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch on Thursday, May 8th at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, the world headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys. A limited number of tickets to the landmark 60th ACM Awards are available for purchase on SeatGeek, offering fans exclusive entry into a nonstop celebration packed with performances by their favorite country stars and seats closer to the action than ever.

Langley and Top will join previously announced performers Alan Jackson, Blake Shelton, Brooks & Dunn, Chris Stapleton, Clint Black, Cody Johnson, Eric Church, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson, LeAnn Rimes, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, and Wynonna Judd. Langley leads this year’s nominations with eight.
