A slew of celebrity guest stars who have made an animated appearance on The Simpsons are getting the ultimate merchandise treatment, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the longest-running sitcom in TV history.
Twentieth Century Fox and the National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA) have unveiled a plethora of merch, including 5″ figurines, apparel, collectibles and other novelties, featuring music artists The Who, James Brown, Britney Spears and Kid Rock.
Series 1 of The Simpsons figures includes Hugh Hefner, James Brown, Yao Ming, Kid Rock, and Tom Hanks and are on sale now. Series 2 will feature The Who, Britney Spears, Mark Hamill, Lucy Lawless and Tony Hawk, and will hit store shelves in April.
Billboard reports that Twentieth Century Fox and NECA plan to release a new set of celebrity faces every two to three months in 2014, although no other celebrities were named beyond the second wave. They can all be purchased through Amazon and are $14.99 and up.
Other celebrity musical guests who have appeared on The Simpsons 25-year run include Ringo Starr, Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, Tom Jones, Bette Midler, Red Hot Chili Peppers, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, The Ramones, Elvis Costello, Tom Petty, Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, Lenny Kravitz, Brian Setzer, Cypress Hill, Smashing Pumpkins, U2, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Metallica, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Sting, David Crosby, Johnny Cash, Peter Frampton, Tony Bennett and many many more.
