The Who honored by Royal Mail

The band celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2024

The UK Royal Mail will honor The Who’s 60th anniversary with a collection of stamps and medals. Saluting 60 years of rock rebellion, the organization has 34 items listed on its website that fans can purchase to commemorate the iconic British band’s career. Options include a stamp book, stamp sets, medals, framed collectibles, and more, all expected to ship this week.

The Who Prestige Stamp Book is presented in a bespoke speaker-style presentation box. Music writer and photographer Matt Kent details the band’s history that changed how rock music was performed. The set is limited to 1,964, a nod to the year the band formed in London.

The Who Limited Edition Platinum Stamp Set is the ultimate commemorative collectible honoring the band. The limited edition souvenir features striking platinum-layered stamps presented in a protective capsule and displayed within a special edition box. The stunning souvenir depicts all eight mint stamps from The Who issue, of iconic album covers from the band across the last 60 years, from 1965’s My Generation to 2019’s Who. Each platinum stamp set is presented with an individually numbered certificate of authenticity. A highly limited number of 1,964 will be produced.

A set of 13 postcards featuring enlarged reproductions of The Who issue’s eight mint stamps, four Miniature Sheet stamps, and a composite Miniature Sheet, is also available.

Fans can purchase an eye-catching framed collectible featuring ten mint stamps from The Who 60th anniversary commemorative issue alongside labels featuring images of live performances from Festival d’été de Québec in Canada on July 13, 2017.

One limited edition collectible medal explores Pete Townshend’s Life House concept and the album Who’s Next, with all eight mint stamps from The Who 60th anniversary. A second silver-plated medal marks the impact of The Who on youth culture. Both are limited to 5,000 each.
