Fresh off their US tour with The Colourists, Austin based duo, The Wind and The Wave (Patricia Lynn and Dwight Baker) are set to hit the road this June with Jamestown Revival. Patty and Dwight will join the tour from June 17th in Cincinnati, OH until July 3rd ending in Nashville, TN. The band is also set to play various dates this May.
The band has released five acoustic videos in a series entitled, “The Marfa Takes” which can be seen below. They played at SXSW this year and were named one of 12 local acts to watch at the festival by The New York Times. In addition, the band was hailed as one of ten bands to watch in Austin Monthly. Patty and Dwight recently supported Fun. and Bruce Springsteen at the NCAA March Madness Music Festival in Dallas, TX.
The Wind and The Wave was the special musical guest on CW’s Hart of Dixie where they performed, “My Mama Said Be Careful Where You Lay Your Head” and “It’s A Longer Road to California Than I Thought.” Additionally they re-recorded Simple Mind’s “Don’t You Forget About Me” and Cyndi Lauper’s “Time after Time” specifically for ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. Other tracks can be heard on CW’s Supernatural and ABC’s Killer Women.
Their first single “With Your Two Hands” just launched at Adult Alternative radio with more than 25 stations at impact, including: KCLC/ St. Louis, WJCU/Cleveland , WNKU/Cincinnati, WCBE/Columbus, KUTX/Austin, WRLT/Nashville, WEZZ/Birmingham, WFIV/Knoxville, WCOO/Charleston, KRSH/ Santa Rosa, WWNU/Columbia, WNCS/Burlington and many, many more!
The band’s debut album, From The Wreckage is due out this summer on RCA Records.
