Song is from upcoming fifth studio album

On the heels of a freshly-minted ACM Awards Entertainer of the Year title and notching his 16th career chart-topper, Thomas Rhett surprised fans on social media with a preview of his upcoming single “What’s Your Country Song.” Serving as the first taste off a fifth studio album via The Valory Music Co., the uptempo offering infuses inspiration from classic country songs and whip-smart storytelling to breed a fresh new take on a country state of mind, flexing Rhett’s knack to “fine-tune his songwriting to maximize the narratives at the core of his hooks” (Billboard). Written by Thomas Rhett alongside Rhett Akins, Jesse Frasure, Ashley Gorley and Parker Welling, the song is available on Wednesday, November 11th.

“We wrote this song on the road last year in Dallas, Texas,” Rhett shares of the song. “It’s really about how I was noticing that no matter where you live or where you’re from, everyone has a little bit of country inside their bones.”

Additionally, the current two-time CMA Awards nominee will appear on ABC’s Good Morning America on Wednesday, November 11th ahead of his performance of his powerful and chart-topping “Be A Light” feat. Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott and Chris Tomlin on The 54th Annual CMA Awards at 8 pm ET on ABC.

Thomas Rhett’s most recent release, his GRAMMY-nominated fourth studio album Center Point Road continued to propel his meteoric career as “few singers have played a larger role in defining the sound of country music over the past half-dozen years” (Rolling Stone), debuting atop the Billboard 200 and spawning three No. 1 hits including its platinum lead single, “Look What God Gave Her,” which was first introduced on SNL. Rhett has scored nearly 10 billion total career streams and received two CMA Triple Play awards for penning three No. 1 songs within a 12-month period, adding to his collection of trophies from the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music, Billboard Music Awards, CMT Music Awards and more.
