Chart-topping band A Thousand Horses get back in the saddle with the release of โPreachinโ to the Choir.โ The lead single from their sophomore project on BMLG Records features the Horsesโ signature soul with standout vocals and harmonies, as Rolling Stone Country applauds, โโPreachinโ to the Choirโ is the Horses’ doctrine, a crisp blast of country-rock that extols the virtues of the 9 to 5.โ The track is available at all digital partners and radio.
โWe are excited to share the new music with fans and country radio,โ said lead vocalist Michael Hobby. โWe have been away for a bit in the studio writing and recording but are now ready to get out there and perform the new stuff.โ
Written by Heather Morgan, Morgan Wallen, Brad Warren and Brett Warren, โPreachinโ to the Choirโ embodies A Thousand Horses’ Southern Rock roots and contemporary country mix with lyrics like: โI ain’t rich, but I’m grateful / Every time I’m drivinโ with a tank full / โSimple Manโ cominโ through the dashboard speakers / I’m a southern rock sinner, believer and Iโm preachinโ to the choir.โ Hobbyโs husky vocals are enhanced with Bill Satcher and Zach Brown on guitar and Graham Deloach on bass.
The new single is a fitting follow-up to their debut album Southernality, which featured their chart-topping single โSmoke.โ The song marked the highest debut for a new artistโs first single in Country Aircheck history and solidified A Thousand Horses as the first band (with at least three members) to send their first single to No. 1 on Billboard Country Airplay Charts this decade.
A Thousand Horses will head to Austin on March 17th to perform at the Big Machine Label Group Showcase presented by TuneIn. The event begins at 8:30 pmย at Easy Tiger. The ACM New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year nominees will vie for the title at the 52nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards airing live on CBS from Las Vegas on April 2nd.
