Coming on the heels of three consecutive No. 1 smash hits and a sold out tour in 2013, country superstar Tim McGraw is riding major momentum into the new year with brand new music and plans for an even bigger summer with the announcement of “Lookin’ For That Girl,” the lead single from his next Big Machine Records release, and tour that kicks off on the West Coast in May.
“Lookin’ For That Girl,” a mid-tempo hip hop flavored country/pop tune, is available to radio immediately and can be purchased via iTunes on January 21st. It was penned by Jimmy Slater, Chris Tompkins and Mark Irwin and keeps the current trend of mixing country with hip hop loops, Autotune, and women alive and well.
You can hear the entire track at Entertainment Weekly, one week before fans can purchase it.
In May, McGraw will hit the road on his The Sundown Heaven 2014 Tour that will hit 30 cities throughout the summer including Sacramento, San Diego, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Chicago, Tampa and more.
Fans can purchase tickets beginning January 24th for select cities as part of Live Nation’s Country Megaticket.
“This last year was unbelievable, and I don’t have any plans to let off the gas now. We didn’t want to waste any time getting new music out,” said McGraw. “With every album, my approach is to push a few of my own boundaries and try things I’ve never done before. It was hard to choose a lead single off this project because I really felt like we had six or seven good options. I kept coming back to ‘That Girl’ because even though it may be a little different for me sonically, I couldn’t get it out of my head!”
