Singer celebrating release of two new songs

Grammy Award winning music superstar Tim McGraw surprised his label, industry guests and some very lucky fans Thursday night (Oct 4th) with a secret club show at Nashville’s The End. Guests were packed wall to wall and lined down the block trying to get in when McGraw took the stage to play a set list of his biggest hits along with two just released songs. The show was in celebration of his first new solo music since 2015, with the release of his new single “Neon Church” and additional track “Thought About You.” The tracks already have critics raving with Billboard saying “McGraw heartbreakingly opens ‘Neon Church’ with his characteristically classic country vocals……‘Thought About You’ is equally as powerful,” and Rolling Stone declares “Thought About You” “a sweeping rocker.”

Both tracks are available to stream and download now via Columbia Nashville/McGraw Music. McGraw has indicated both songs are part of an upcoming 2019 album project.

“I love that there are no rules anymore and I can give fans more music at once. I really felt that both these songs were ready to be heard and will absolutely give a sense of where I’m going with my next project. They’re meaningful to me and show the diversity of what I’ve been working on musically,” states McGraw who has most recently spent two years touring with his wife, Grammy Award winning artist, Faith Hill on the blockbuster Soul2Soul Tour in support of their first-ever album together, The Rest Of Our Life.

The lead radio single “Neon Church” was written by Ben Goldsmith, Ben Stennis and Ross Ellis. From the opening line of “I need Jesus or I need whiskey” listeners will immediately get a sense of a classic country music theme made relevant to 2018. “There’s not a misplaced word in Neon Church,” explains McGraw. The second track “Thought About You” was written by Lee Thomas Miller, Brad Warren and Brett Warren. The lyrics take the listener on an emotional journey about lost love and opportunity weaving McGraw’s signature vocals with a powerful message.

McGraw joined forces with long-time collaborator Byron Gallimore to produce both tracks. “Tim had such a vision for the sound and shape of this new music. ‘Neon Church’ is an anthem from the first note and is so unique sonically,” said Gallimore. Together as co-producers, McGraw and Gallimore have sold over 50 million records.

While no tour has been announced as of press time, fans can visit McGraw’s website to create a playlist inspired by “Neon Church.” Once created, those fans will be entered to win two tickets to see McGraw at next year’s Twin Cities Summer Jam Festival at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN.
