Keith is currently recovering

Toby Keith has revealed that he’s currently recovering from treatment for stomach cancer. The country superstar shared the news on social media on Sunday (June 12th), stating “so far, so good.”

“Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax,” he writes. “I am looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait. -T”

It appears his Country Comes To Town Tour has been postponed, but dates still appear on his website for this summer, as of this writing.

Despite his condition, Keith raised more than $1.38 million last month for his OK Kids Korral, the cost-free home for families of children being treated at The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center. It’s the third highest total ever for his annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic.

Earlier this month, Keith released “Oklahoma Breakdown” as the second single from his Peso In My Pocket album. “Oklahoma Breakdown” follows the album’s first single, “Old School,” which enjoyed the highest chart debut of Keith’s storied career.
