Tool’s long-awaited Fear Inoculum has topped Discogs Best Seller List for August 2019. The project was released on August 30th after a 13-year wait to fans around the world. The album was issued in three special limited edition variants. It includes a CD in a trifold digipak video brochure, as well as a rechargeable 4″ HD screen with exclusive video footage, a USB charging cable, a 2-watt speaker, a 36-page booklet and a digital MP3 download card.
Retailing for $45 USD, these special variants conceived by Tool guitarist Adam Jones are now averaging resale between $85-120, according to Discogs data. In the weeks prior to release, Tool’s full discography became available on all digital and streaming services leading to record-setting sales and downloads. Fear Inoculum debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 making it the biggest release week for a rock album in over a year. While Tool has said that vinyl reissues are in the works for their prior discography, no vinyl editions have been announced to date and their groundbreaking album Ænima won’t be yours on vinyl for less than $500.
