Trace Adkins has released his latest single “Jesus And Jones” to country radio. The track is from his debut BBR Music Group’s Wheelhouse Records’ record, which is currently in production. Adkins has teamed up with chart-topping producer Mickey Jack Cones (Dustin Lynch, Joe Nichols) for the project which is scheduled for release sometime in 2016.
The uptempo track features Adkins’ baritone voice over a mix of pop country instrumentation. In the track, Adkins sings about finding a “little middle ground between let her rip and settling down” and trying to live like his heroes did. The chorus ends with “Been a tug o’ war since I was a kid between Jesus and Jones.”
Adkins has a big 2016 ahead. In May, he will be the third entertainment figure to ever be awarded the National Defense Industrial Association’s prestigious Dwight D. Eisenhower Award in honor of his leadership in support of the military services. Adkins is a spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Program and the American Red Cross, for whom he raised over $1.5 million as winner of NBC’s All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. In recent years, Adkins has performed ten USO Tours.
Additionally, the veteran hit-maker expands his film roles to Deepwater Horizon, starring Dylan O’Brien, Mark Wahlberg and Kate Hudson, which will be released in Fall 2016.
