Tracy Lawrence raises over $250k at 2022 Mission Possible Turkey Fry

Benefit concert featured Gary Allan, Travis Denning, Alexandra Kay & Halfway to Hazard

Country music icon and philanthropist, Tracy Lawrence, hosted his 17th Annual Mission:Possible Turkey Fry and Benefit Concert in Nashville yesterday (Tues, Nov 22nd). The day kicked off at the Nashville Fairgrounds with over 250 volunteers who helped fry a record-breaking 1,200 turkeys that will be distributed throughout Middle Tennessee, providing 9,600 meals to those in need during the Thanksgiving holiday. Following on that momentum, Lawrence was joined by Gary Allan, Travis Denning, Alexandra Kay and Halfway to Hazard for a sold out benefit concert at Wildhorse Saloon downtown that raised another record-breaking $250,000 towards Mission:Possible’s long-time partner, the Nashville Rescue Mission. The yearly event has now provided more than 73,000 meals to the homeless across Middle Tennessee and raised over $850,000 for Nashville Rescue Mission.

“Yesterday was an incredible day from start to finish,” Lawrence shares. “To step back and think about how this started as just a few friends and a dozen fryers in a parking lot — to what it is now — is truly incredible. There are so many people that go into this event and I’m just so grateful we can all come together and support this cause.”

The Turkey Fry kicked off bright and early at the Nashville Fairgrounds — its new location to accommodate the growing event — with Lawrence, joined by Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn, dropping the first turkey into the fryer. Lawrence’s cause called upon star-studded helping hands including Tennessee Senator Bill Hagerty, Nashville Mayor John Cooper, Phil Vassar, Deana Carter, Clint Black, Lee Greenwood and some of the evening’s performers including Kay, Denning and Halfway to Hazard. The charity event brought in dozens of industry members and the greater Nashville community to lend a hand in the massive undertaking.

In 2021, the annual Thanksgiving week concert raised $175,000 – which was previously the largest sum raised by the Turkey Fry event to date. Each year, Lawrence and his wife Becca Lawrence continue to grow and find ways to help more communities in need. Take a look into last year’s event here. Past performers have included Country favorites such as Tim McGraw, Luke Combs, Chris Young, Lainey Wilson, Justin Moore, Cole Swindell, and more.

Following on the success of the Turkey Fry and Benefit Concert series, Mission:Possible launched an annual Celebrity Classic Golf Tournament in 2020. The springtime fundraiser has raised more than $800,000 towards various Middle Tennessee homeless charities in only two short years. Lawrence hand-delivered the earnings to worthy causes like Safe Haven, Oasis and Jesus Provisions Ministries – see the heartwarming moments here. Past attendees of the event include: Kid Rock, Charles Kelley, Jake Owen, Jordan Davis, Hardy, Ernest, Deana Carter, Mitchell Tenpenny, Jamey Johnson, Colt Ford, John Daly, Brett Hull and Rex Ryan.

The 2022 Mission:Possible Turkey Fry is made possible through incredible partnerships with sponsors including LHC, Sam’s Club, M&W Logistics, New Day Homes, ABEC, TW Frierson, First National Bank, Thomas Trucking, Choate Construction, Pinnacle Financial Partners, Houchens Insurance, Blue Rhino, The Poultry Federation, LouAna Oil, Nashville Music Guide and Nashville Marine.
