Yearwood’s new book is coming out in September

Trisha Yearwood has confirmed that she’s COVID free following a recent positive test that forced she and husband Garth Brooks to remain quarantined longer than expected after a recent positive COVID test by a member of their team. The multimedia superstar confirmed the news in a social media post on Monday (March 8th) where she also announced her new cookbook.

“Don’t they say good news comes in 3s??!!” she asks rhetorically. “1) I got the official news that I am COVID negative. Thank you all for your love, support messages and sweet tweets! 2) My incredible husband is literally Superman and never got COVID – but still took all the precautions to keep everyone we know and love safe! 3) Today I can finally share with you the cover of my new cookbook Trisha’s Kitchen. Garth said, good news begets good news, let’s share it with the world today and spread the love! Let me know what you think of the cover. You can get your copy September 28.”

On February 11th, Yearwood and Brooks announced they’d be quarantining for two weeks after someone in their camp tested positive. The pair postponed both of their Facebook Live series while in quarantine and were forced to cancel a co-hosting gig on Ellen for Valentine’s Day.

Late last week, Brooks confirmed to Microsoft Education that Yearwood was starting to feel better after testing negative.

“If you know her, she’s just a ball of energy anyway,” Brooks shares. “She’s always positive and she is a fighter. She’s tough. The other day she’s getting very impatient with it, she’s getting kinda crabby with it and she’s actually getting a little mean, and I said, which means she’s about back to normal.”

Trisha’s Kitchen features 125 comfort food recipes and family favorites that are simple to prepare and will bring loved ones together, plus fun family stories and photos. Recipes include dishes her beloved mother used to make, plus new recipes like Pasta Pizza Snack Mix and Garth’s Teriyaki Bowl. Every recipe tells a story, whether it’s her grandma’s Million Dollar Cupcakes, or her Camo Cake that she made for her nephew’s birthday.

“I love to cook now more than I ever have, because for me, cooking is about love,” Yearwood says. “It’s sharing a meal with family and friends and talking about our lives. It’s working out thoughts in my head about what I need to conquer or accomplish while I’m working on a homemade pastry crust. Sometimes the feel of cold butter in my hands working through the flour just makes me see things more clearly.”

The book will be released on September 28th via Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Hardback and Kindle versions are available via Amazon with Barnes & Noble offering signed copies.
