Twice announces ‘Between 1&2’ mini album

Album drops Aug 26th

K-pop superstars Twice have announced their next mini album will be released later this summer. Between 1&2 will be released on August 26th with preorders underway on July 26th at midnight ET.

The group shared the announcement on social media with a promotional poster of a pink light switch and the words “Tell me what you want” above it.

Between 1&2 marks the group’s 11th mini album and follows their third full length, Formula of Love: O+T=<3, released in November 2021. Formula charted third on the Billboard Top 200 and stayed in the chart for eight weeks in a row. Their tenth mini-album Taste of Love, released in June of last year, ranked sixth on the Billboard Top 200 and set the highest record in the history of K-pop girl groups’ mini-album.

Earlier this year, the music video for the third title song on Twice’s full-length album, “Scientist,” exceeded 100 million views on YouTube becoming their 20th music video surpassing 100 million views following those for all 16 title songs, their first English single “The Feels” and three songs released in Japan. Among those tracks, the videos for “TT,” “LIKEY,” “What is Love?” and “Fancy” exceeded 500 million views collectively, with a total of 13 music videos securing more than 300 million views – the largest viewership numbers of any girl group worldwide.

Last month, Twice made their in-studio US broadcast debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where the group performed their Billboard Hot 100 hit, “The Feels.” They also performed back-to-back, sold out performances at Los Angeles’ Banc of California Stadium – encore performances of their sold out arena tour, 4th World Tour III. These performances were a major milestone for the group, as they made Twice the first female K-pop group to play a North American stadium.

Twice member Nayeon made Billboard chart history last week by becoming the first K-pop soloist to ever debut in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. Her debut solo EP, Im Nayeon, reached No. 7 on the coveted chart, and took the top spot on the Billboard World Albums Chart and Top Album Sales Chart, making her the first K-pop solo artist to have a No. 1 debut. The EP also boasts the biggest first-week sales for a K-Pop/Korean soloist in Billboard 200 history.
