Nayeon is first member of K-pop group to release solo debut

Nayeon, one of the members of the global K-pop powerhouse Twice, will be releasing her first solo EP, I’m Nayeon, on Friday, June 24th. This is Nayeon’s first solo venture since her Twice debut in October 2015, and she is the first member of the group to release a solo EP.

Preorders start Tuesday, May 24th at 1 pm KST/midnight EST.

In March, member Jihyo contributed her first solo song, “Stardust Love Song,” to the original soundtrack of popular Korea drama series Twenty Five Twenty One. This also marked Jihyo’s first solo venture since her Twice debut.

The nine-piece superstar group recently performed back-to-back, sold out performances at Los Angeles’ Banc of California Stadium – encore performances of their sold out 4th World Tour III. These performances were a major milestone for the group, as they made Twice the first female K-Pop group to play a North American stadium.

Their 4th World Tour, which opened in Seoul in December of last year, sold out stadiums and arenas across five cities in North America including Los Angeles, Oakland, Fort Worth, Atlanta and New York. All seven shows sold out just hours after on sale, and made Twice the first female K-Pop group to sell out two North American arena tours. Twice’s return to States was highly anticipated, as this tour was the group’s first time back since their hit Twicelights world tour in 2019, which included sold out shows at Los Angeles’ The Forum in Los Angeles and Newark’s Prudential Center.

Twice’s latest third full length album Formula of Love: O+T=<3, released in November 2021, charted third on the Billboard Top 200 and stayed in the chart for eight weeks in a row. Their tenth mini-album Taste of Love, released in June of last year, ranked sixth on the Billboard Top 200 and set the highest record in the history of K-pop girl groups’ mini-album.

In March, the music video for the third title song on Twice’s full-length album, “Scientist,” exceeded 100 million views on YouTube becoming their 20th music video surpassing 100 million views following those for all 16 title songs, their first English single “The Feels” and three songs released in Japan. Among those tracks, the videos for “TT,” “Likely,” “What is Love?” and “Fancy” exceeded 500 million views collectively, with a total of 13 music videos securing more than 300 million views – the largest viewership numbers of any girl group worldwide.
