Tyler Rich may paint the picture of a 4×4, but the backroads, lift kits and shimming-over-next-to-me sentiments are nowhere in sight on his new track. He changes course on the typical song about a certain automobile with “Trucks Don’t Lie,” out now via The Valory Music Co.

“A truck can tell you a thousand stories. It can tell you someone’s favorite teams. The color and build can tell you about their personality. Memories within a truck can tell you over and over again when someone is gone … and so much more,” says Rich. “’Trucks Don’t Lie’ has some angst, a lot of heart and some heartbreak, all greased up together.”

The Northern California-raised, Nashville-rooted singer/songwriter doesn’t shy away from matters of the heart, often finding inspiration in his wife Sabina Gadecki even as they maintained a bi-coastal courtship for several years. With his latest catchy yet crushing release, pain reverberates in his voice as Rich sings lyrics penned alongside Adam Craig and Jim McCormick.

“I’ve been performing this one on the road since last year, and it’s been a fan favorite. Watching the crowd react every night, and even sing along because of teasers, has been one of the highlights of each show from my perspective. Turn this one up!” says Rich.

Reuniting in the studio with Jaren Johnston of The Cadillac Three, who also produced and co-wrote “A Little Bit of You,” the pair have found a fresh groove Rich can amplify out on his headline run this fall. Naming the tour after his “Thinkin’ We’re In Love” English + French collaborations with one of Canada’s most successful bilingual singer-songwriters, Marie-Mai, it’s clear Rich’s drive is anything but parked.
