U2 announces ‘The Blackout’ video, sets album announcement

“The Blackout” video is available Aug 30th

U2 fans are about to get their first taste of new music from the group’s upcoming Songs Of Experience album. The band is set to release “The Blackout” video tomorrow (Wed, Aug 30th) at noon ET/9 am ET via the band’s Facebook page. The group posted a teaser this afternoon.

However, “The Blackout” is not the first single. The group has announced “You’re The Best Thing About” me for release on Wednesday, September 6th along with Songs Of Experience album details.

Over the last week, U2 fan club members have been receiving mysterious promos via mail and email about “The Blackout.” The group shot the video at an Amsterdam venue last month. According to atU2, fan club members in attendance received an email with the following message yesterday (Aug 28th):

“Remember the Gashouder? A special night. Thanks for coming. See yourself here: #U2TheBlackout #U2SongsOfExperience #Experience”

Songs of Experience is the companion to the band’s 2014 surprise release, Songs of Innocence.
