It has been announced that Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” featuring Bruno Mars wraps the year as the Billboard Hot 100 #1 Song of 2015. “Uptown Funk” is also the #1 most played radio song of 2015. The single held the #1 spot on Billboard Hot 100 Chart for 14 consecutive weeks- the longest-leading Billboard Hot 100 of the Decade. The video for “Uptown Funk” has enjoyed over one billion views.
Mark Ronson also received three GRAMMY nominations in the categories of Record of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Uptown Funk” and Best Pop Vocal Album for Uptown Special for the 58th GRAMMY Awards. Ronson released the world wide smash hit “Uptown Funk” featuring Bruno Mars in November 2014 and the acclaimed Uptown Special, his fourth solo album, in January 2015 on RCA Records. Following a meteoric climb up the charts “Uptown Funk” held the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 for fourteen weeks – making it the second-longest No. 1 in history. “Uptown Funk” has won several international awards this year, including Best Single at the BRIT Awards, Song Of The Year & Video Of The Year at the Soul Train Awards and Best Male Video at the MTV VMAs.
Mark Ronson is a three-time GRAMMY winner, having been awarded Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical in 2007 as well as Record Of The Year for his work on Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab” and “Best Pop Vocal Album” for his work on Winehouse’s Back To Black album in the same year.
