Fans of reggae, ska, R&B and rap have an album they can enjoy that combines all three genres. Jacob Didas’ Lucid has all this and more. Ten solid tunes, it’s hard to understand that Didas is a new artist. His songs deal with lots of life’s many pressure and if anyone knows pressure, it’s Didas. Currently serving our country in the US Army, Didas uses his experiences to tell us his story. Thankfully, the way he chooses to channel his creative energy will leave you all in awe of his music.

“Deluded” is the best track on Lucid, which tells us all his opinion on the state of world, and while it may seem bleak, it’s at least honest. That’s what you get on Lucid, honesty. “Drumroll” is another track that nicely describes struggles Didas has overcome, while “Flight” with its touch off jazz and rock show how musically gifted this young soldier is, as well as lyrically.

There’s plenty of good on this album but it’s best left to have you, the reader, listen to it yourself. It’ll be one of the best decisions you’ll make.
