VEVO launches 24 hour music TV channel

The channel is expected to expand to pay TV

YouTube’s rival, VEVO, has launched a 24 hour music channel beginning Tuesday (March 12th). The channel launched online but will expand to pay TV later this year appearing in cable and satellite channel lineups.

VEVO TV is available to U.S. and Canadian viewers via its website, mobile applications, video game consoles and Roku. VEVO TV schedules blocks of HD music videos by genre with videos featured on their site that you can watch live anywhere you go. Original programming and concerts are in the works as well as hiring talent to host programs.

VEVO has launched the channel to capitalize on ads and to seek subscriber fees from cable and satellite customers just like its previous counterparts, MTV and VH1. No word on when you can watch VEVO TV through your local channel lineup at this time.
