The sultry “Down” arrives in time to capture the sizzling summer vibes
Actress, singer and songwriter Victoria Justice has released “Down.” Earlier this year, the songstress began to drop her singles in a waterfall style, marking a new era of music. She was seen on the cover of Marie Claire’s music issue and has been collaborating with Grammy-Award-winning songwriter-producer Toby Gad.
“‘Down’ encapsulates Victoria’s beautiful and natural self-expression; how she likes to move and interact with her love interest on the dance floor, bringing desire and passion to a hot summer fling,” states Gad.
Justice, an independent artist, maintains full creative control of her music and stresses the importance of creating music that’s for the soul and reflective of her own journey.
“I wrote ‘Down’ with Toby Gad and Will Jay during a weekend in Baja, Mexico. I was inspired by the beautiful ocean views and was in the mood to write a sexy summer song. This song really captures the flirtation and overall feeling of being so undeniably attracted and to someone,” adds Justice. “I want people to hear this song and want to get up and move! I hope people will be dancing along to it with me all summer long.”
Through her latest releases, the multi-hyphenate creative has left a remarkable impression on fans and new listeners, breaking out of the box, and proving that artists don’t need to be defined by genre. She continues to empower women and aspiring singers/songwriters, staying true to who she is and bringing that same authenticity to her music.
Justice began her independent music journey with “Treat Myself” in 2020, and in 2023 released three singles, “Last Man Standing,” “Only A Stranger” and “Tripped.”
In 2021 and 2022, she delivered two No. 1 hit films to Netflix, A Perfect Pairing and Afterlife Of The Party.
Victoria will soon be starring in a guest role in the upcoming Suits: L.A. and one of the leads in the upcoming thriller Depravity.
