‘Metallica: Through The Never’ official trailer released

Metallica has released an official trailer to their upcoming 3D concert film, Metallica: Through The Never. The film, directed by Nimród Antal, opens in IMAX 3D on September 27th and everywhere on October 4th.

The film follows a young roadie named Trip (Dane DeHaan) as he is sent out on a mission to meet a disabled truck and retrieve a particular item while Metallica performs a roaring live set for fans in a sold-out arena. Trip’s mission goes awry whenever his van is hit by another vehicle and he subsequently finds himself in a surreal position as he is comes face to face with a death-dealing horseman. Trip has only his wits to help him flee the deadly horseman and deliver Metallica’s cargo.

Metallica: Through The Never is rated R for language and some violent content. Running time is 1 hour 32 minutes and is produced by PictureHouse and Metallica’s own Blackend.

An audio soundtrack album entitled, Metallica Through The Never (Music from the Motion Picture) will be released on September 24th on Blackened Recordings on double CD, double vinyl and all digital retailers. The album features 15 songs recorded live in Edmonton and Vancouver in August 2012 while filming the performance footage of the film. Vinyl releases in both 33 1/3 and a special limited, numbered 45 RPM versions to be available later this fall.
