Walker Montgomery drops ‘Almost, So Close, So Long, Goodbye’

The rising country star calls it a day on love to get to the bar in fun-filled new tune

Walker Montgomery isnโ€™t wasting any time on melodramatic goodbyes on his latest single, the rowdy โ€œAlmost, So Close, So Long, Goodbye,โ€ available now on all streaming platforms.

Penned by Ryan Beaver, Bart Butler, Jessie Jo Dillon and Matt McGinn, the irreverent โ€œkickerโ€ dispenses with the niceties and drawn-out-drama of belabored goodbyes in favor of a trip straight to the honky-tonk.

โ€œWhen you know itโ€™s time to say goodbye in a relationship, youโ€™ve gotta grab your buddies and go have a good time. This is a perfect two-steppinโ€™, boot-scootinโ€™ song that everyone needs on a night out,โ€ says Montgomery.

The fun-filled tune even works in a classic George Strait song mention with its โ€œEasy Come, Easy Goโ€ reference, as Walker settles on civility and avoids the fight in favor of a cold beer at his favorite hangout. The stone cold country tune includes some sizzling picking and top level musicianship as well, and is sure to be a fast favorite of fans of traditional, old school country everywhere.

Montgomery is gearing up for a busy summer on the road, with more music to come from the country up-and-comer soon.
