Global audience able to watch BTS performance through Weverse Live

Weverse is live-streaming the BTS in Busan concert on October 15th. The concert will play to a global audience through Weverse Live and is part of the World Expo 2030 Busan Korea.

In July, Weverse let audiences from 220 countries/regions enjoy performances of BTS member J-Hope and Tomorrow X Together from Lollapalooza streamed through Weverse Live. The live streaming was serviced to a large-scale audience for a total of 16.28 million fans in a stable viewing environment on the platform.

Furthermore, the translation support language has been expanded from the existing Korean, English, Chinese, Japanese to Spanish, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Thai for a total of eight languages in efforts to diversify its service for viewers worldwide. Weverse will also be available outside of the Weverse app via PC web and TV apps on a smart TV for the viewers’ convenience.

BTS will also be the subject of two specials streaming on Disney+ in a new partnership the Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific and Hybe have signed. BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage – LA is an exclusive cinematic 4K concert film features BTS’ live performance in Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium in November 2021. BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star is an original docu-series that follows the incredible journey of the K-pop superstars with unprecedented access to a vast library of music and footage.

In June, the group released Proof, a three disc anthology album that celebrates the nine years of BTS’ journey since their debut, and opens a new chapter upon their tenth year as artists. The project, available in multiple configurations, contains new tracks, members’ selections, demo versions, unreleased tracks and more.

Its members also announced they would pursue solo projects while “remaining active as a group.” On June 14th, the superstars released a new BTS Dinner Party video to celebrate their ninth anniversary when Suga commented the band was going on “hiatus,” causing a frenzy on social media and sending Hybe’s stock plummeting by $1.7 billion overnight. The next day, Big Hit Entertainment, clarified that the statement was mistranslated into English when subtitled in the video.

This summer also saw the first solo release with J-Hope’s Jack in the Box. The album is comprised of ten tracks with “More” and “Arson” acting as the album’s two main tracks.
