The White Stripes premiere two classic live VH1 performances

“Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground” and “My Doorbell” are now available

Third Man Records and Columbia Records are celebrating last Fridayโ€™s release of The White Stripes Greatest Hits with the YouTube premiere of two classic live performances. โ€œDead Leaves And The Dirty Groundโ€ and โ€œMy Doorbellโ€ โ€“ both originally part of the bandโ€™s September 2005 Live @ VH1 Session in support of the release of Get Behind Me Satan โ€“ are streaming now at the official White Stripes YouTube channel.

The first-ever official anthology of recordings from the iconic rock duo, Jack and Meg White, collects 26 previously released songs for this essential, career-spanning set, such as โ€œSeven Nation Army,โ€ โ€œFell In Love With A Girl,โ€ โ€œHotel Yorba,โ€ โ€œDead Leaves And The Dirty Ground,โ€ โ€œHello Operator,โ€ โ€œIcky Thump,โ€ โ€œApple Blossom,โ€ and more. The White Stripes Greatest Hits is now available digitally worldwide and on 2 LP 150-gram black vinyl and CD in the US, as well as on CD in Canada. The vinyl and CD for the rest of the world will be available on February 12, 2021.

The compilation has been heralded with an array of video premieres, including an all-new animated music video for โ€œLetโ€™s Shake Hands,โ€ the first song the band recorded in their living room and originally released as a 7-inch single in 1998. Directed by Wartella (Cartoon Networkโ€™s Mad), the clip is streaming now via YouTube. Whatโ€™s more, 12 of the albumโ€™s groundbreaking and influential official music videos have been newly remastered in HD, including such classic clips as โ€œDead Leaves And The Dirty Ground,โ€ โ€œIcky Thump,โ€ โ€œFell In Love With A Girl,โ€ โ€œThe Hardest Button to Button,โ€ โ€œHotel Yorba,โ€ โ€œSeven Nation Army,โ€ and โ€œWeโ€™re Going To Be Friends.โ€ Recent weeks have also seen the arrival of a Wartella-directed animated video for โ€œApple Blossomโ€ as well as a never-before-seen live performance video of โ€œBall and Biscuitโ€ from the White Stripesโ€™ October 22, 2003 show at Tokyo, Japanโ€™s Shibuya-AX.
