Band has suffered several medical setbacks

Whitesnake has canceled the remainder of its European tour due to “continuing health challenges, doctor’s orders, and our concern for everyone’s health and safety.” The band shared he news on Friday (July 1st), apologizing to fans who were expecting to see the group on its Farewell Tour.

“It is with the deepest sadness that I must announce that due to continuing health challenges, doctor’s orders, and our concern for everyone’s health and safety, Whitesnake is unable to continue its European Farewell Tour,” frontman David Coverdale shares.

“I extend my sincere apologies to all of Whitesnake’s amazing fans who have been looking forward to the remaining scheduled shows of this tour, All of our amazing, fabulous Snakes & tour personnel who have been working so hard to put on these shows, and all of the promoters and other professionals who have helped set up the tour… I Appreciate & Love You All!!!”

Earlier in the week, the group had canceled several dates due to various health issues. Guitarist Reb Beach was temporarily halted and missed five shows while he recovered from an undisclosed illness, and then the group missed a festival performance due to drummer Tommy Aldridge not being able to play, also for undisclosed reasons. Coverdale had announced he was also ill and suffering from a sinus and trachea infection which caused more issues.

As of this writing, the group is expected to bring its Farewell Tour to North America this fall.

During the spring, the group released Whitesnake Greatest Hits: Revisited, Remixed, Remastered MMXXII featuring remixes of some of the group’s biggest hits. The set is now available digitally, on CD and 2 LP 180-gram black vinyl and as a CD/Blu-ray combo on July 17th.
