Internet radio stream highlights recent deluxe reissues of Wilco’s first two albums
Wilcoworld Radio, a unique global broadcast created by dBpm Records in celebration of the recent deluxe reissues of the band’s first two albums, A.M. and Being There (Rhino), begins streaming today (Fri, Feb 2nd) at 10 am CT via Wilcoworld.net. The full ten plus hours of programming will be rebroadcast each day in its entirety on the 10 o’clock hour (both am and pm), through Sunday, February 4th.
Programming on the newly-created internet radio station includes interviews with Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy and John Stirratt as well as guest segments hosted by Rolling Stone/Sirius XM writer and radio host David Fricke; longtime Wilco supporter and DJ Robert Chase; Omnivore Recordings’ Cheryl Pawelski, producer of the deluxe reissues and Wilco’s 2014 boxed sets Alpha Mike Foxtrot and What’s Your 20?; and Spencer Tweedy, drummer, collaborator and son of Jeff Tweedy.
Celebrity bumpers and a set of jingles produced by Loft studio manager Mark Greenberg – featuring voice-over work by Dave O’Donnell and vocals by Scott Ligon and Casey McDonough from the Chicago band The Flat Five – round out the broadcast, which also includes music from the reissues, live sets from the era of the celebrated albums’ original 1990s release and a one-hour set of cover songs performed by Wilco.
The deluxe reissues of Wilco’s seminal first two albums A.M. and Being There are available now worldwide. Combined the expansive sets contain 47 previously unreleased tracks, including 23 studio outtakes, plus Wilco’s 1996 session from KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic and the band’s raucous 20-song set from the Troubadour in Los Angeles, November 12, 1996.
