The event is slated for Austin, Texas on Independence Day
Willie Nelson has announced the return of his annual 4th of July Picnic for 2025. The event will feature Willie Nelson & Family, Bob Dylan, The Avett Brothers, The Mavericks, Asleep at the Wheel, and Tami Neilson for an eight-hour celebration with fireworks at Austin’s Germania Insurance Amphitheater on Independence Day.
“I’m 92 years old and I’ll be there so you have no excuse,” Nelson shares. “I look forward to bringing back my annual 4th of July Picnic to the city I love and sharing this special event with all my Austin fans.”
Presales are underway with the general sale starting on Friday, March 7th at 10 am local time.
Nelson has hosted the event every year since 1973 with a one-year pause during the summer of 2020 due to the pandemic. The 4th of July celebration typically takes place in Nelson’s home state of Texas, but has been held in Kanas City, Tulsa, and others, including Camden, New Jersey last year.
Next week, Nelson will hold his annual Luck Reunion at his famed Luck, Texas ranch on Thursday, March 13th. The event will feature over 40 musical acts, surprise special guests, culinary experiences with renowned chefs from across the nation, local artisans and one of a kind merchandise. The 2025 Luck Reunion lineup features Willie Nelson & Family, Lukas Nelson, Shane Smith & The Saints, Charley Crockett, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Julien Baker & Torres, Taj Mahal, and others. The event will also include Chaparelle and Friends: A Tribute to Kris Kristofferson featuring Charley Crockett and others.
This summer, Nelson will headline the Outlaw Music Festival 10th Anniversary Tour.
