Willie Nelson cancels 2019 tour dates

Nelson is seeking medical treatment for a breathing problem

Willie Nelson has canceled 2019 tour dates due to a breathing problem. The legendary country singer/songwriter broke the news via social media himself, apologizing to fans.

“To my fans, I’m sorry to cancel my tour, but I have a breathing problem that I need to have my doctor check out,” he shares. “I’ll be back.”

Dates are scheduled through November 29th, but it’s unclear which shows he will be missing. Nelson has dates with Alison Krauss scheduled through mid-August before a slew of Outlaw Music Festival Tour dates in September. He also has a two week Las Vegas residency set for October, dubbed Willie Nelson & Family’s Vegas On My Mind, at The Venetian Theatre.

It’s also unclear whether or not Nelson will still co-headline the return of Farm Aid on September 21st at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin. John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds, as well as Bonnie Raitt, Luke Combs, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Margo Price, Jamey Johnson, Tanya Tucker, Brothers Osborne, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Yola, and Particle Kid are also on the bill.

Nelson has battled emphysema and has canceled a number of dates over the past two years.

More details as they become available.
