WizKid drops ‘True Love’ visual

Grammy-winning international superstar Wizkid releases the sensual visual for his track “True Love” (featuring Tay Iwar & Projexx) via Starboy/Sony Music International/RCA Records. The track is from Wizkid’s critically acclaimed, Grammy-nominated album Made In Lagos: Deluxe Edition. The Nabil Elderkin-directed video stars Wiz and Jamaican-Canadian model/CAY SKIN founder Winnie Harlow.

Wizkid has had an exceptional two years consistently releasing music while racking up accolades and achievements. Released October 2020, the original version of his Made in Lagos (MIL) album reached No. 1 on the Billboard World Albums chart, the longest charting album by a Nigerian artist for the new decade (2020). The hit single “Essence” featuring Tems achieved RIAA-ceritfied Platinum status, performed it on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and was dubbed the “song of the summer” for 2021. The deluxe version of MIL, released in August 2021, contained new tracks such as “Essence” featuring Justin Bieber & Tems, which reached No. 9 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, No. 1 on Hot R&B Songs, No. 1 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, No. 3 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, No. 2 on both Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales charts.

This year alone Wizkid is up for two Grammy nominations for “Best Global Music Performance” for “Essence” featuring Tems and “Best Global Music Album” for Made In Lagos: Deluxe Edition. Additionally, he’s won two NAACP Image Awards for “Outstanding Music Video” (“Essence” featuring Tems) and “Outstanding International Song” (“Essence” featuring Tems & Justin Bieber). Recently, the Grammy Award winner embarked on his sold out Made In Lagos North American tour, with special surprise guests such as Tems.
