A new study from MrGamez has found the most expensive record prices on the market today, judged on what they’ve sold for when auctioned off. And if you bought them from the shop on the corner back in the 60s with your allowance, you might be surprised to find out just how much they go for now…

Record-Breaking Prices

Vinyl is a collector’s game in modern times, and there’s nothing a collector won’t do for a “Holy Grail” item. Have a look at some of the record-breaking records and the prices they go for:

God Save the Queen – The infamous Sex Pistols record that sold for only six days under the A&M pressing, before scandal caused them to part ways with the company. Even a copy of the original without the sleeve sells for $10,578.
Please Please Me – The UK debut album from the Beatles was produced over 13 hours, while Lennon had a bad cold. Yet it still launched the band to massive, enduring fame, and the first pressing now sells for over $8,323.
Introducing… The Beatles – Like Please Please Me, this is a ‘debut’ album for the Beatles. As the EMI US subsidiary Capitol Records declined selling on Please Please Me, this was the band’s breakthrough album in the States, following much negotiation. Only 6000 versions were made with the “Ad Back” sleeve – and they sell for up to $7,573.

Other expensive records include everything from criminal Ska producers to obscene psychadelic rock puns… As well as more traditional classical music, impressionism recitals, and early hip hop.
