The second pre-release track from their second mini album will be available on October 11th
XG has announced the release of “IYKYK,” set to drop on Friday, October 11th. The song is the second pre-release track from their upcoming second mini album Awe, set to drop on November 8th.
“IYKYK” expresses XG’s bold challenge to break boundaries with new endeavors, portraying the members as they explore the limitless universe at lightspeed. The track invites listeners to join them on a journey to an uncharted and isolated dimension.
The track samples m-flo’s 2001 hit “Prism” and blends it with a rhythmic two-step beat, creating a sensation of drifting through space and heightening the excitement for the adventure ahead.
The chorus, featuring the phrase “If you know, you know,” reflects the idea that those who get it will feel compelled to join XG on this journey to a new dimension.
Awe reflects the psychological process of awe that people experience when encountering a new presence— a mix of fear and curiosity as they come to accept it. This album aims to evoke that sense of awe and provide listeners with a unique experience of XG’s music in everyday life.
The album will be available in various versions: the XG version, featuring symbolic storytelling that represents XG’s worldview; the Alphaz version, a special package for XG Official Fanclub Alphaz; Solo versions showcasing individual covers and CD designs representing each member’s personality; and the regular version, embodying the group’s identity as a whole. Following the positive response to their previous work, the vinyl version will also be available.
Recently, XG made waves by releasing “Woke Up Remixx (Prod by Jakops)” on September 20th, featuring prominent Japanese and Korean hip-hop artists Jay Park, OZworld, Aklo, Paloalto, Verbal (m-flo), Awich, Tak, and Dok2. Additionally, XG members made a surprise appearance on stage during Awich’s performance at “The Hope,” Japan’s largest HIP HOP festival, delivering a powerful performance of the track alongside Awich. Their dynamic showcase, filled with strong hip-hop identity, garnered significant attention and praise.
XG is currently on its first world tour, The First Howl. Starting in Las Vegas on October 4th, they will perform in eight cities across North America, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Grand Prairie, Sugar Land, Duluth, New York, and Chicago. Following the North American leg, the UK and Europe tour will kick off in Manchester on November 18th and continue through London, Berlin, Paris, Düsseldorf, Brussels, and Amsterdam, covering seven cities. In 2025, they will also hold eight additional shows across four cities in Japan: Nagoya, Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Osaka.
