Young Thug releases ‘Tick Tock’

Track is debut from forthcoming Punk album

Young Thug has officially released “Tick Tock” as the first track from Thugger’s highly anticipated forthcoming album, Punk, releasing October 15th. The rapper first premiered the track, along with three others, at Rolling Loud Miami in July 2021 during his iconic set.

Directed by Emil Nava, the highflying “Tick Tock” video sees Thugger set against the backdrop of a sterile, corporate world where instead of trying to fit in, Thug tears everything down and brings us into a whole new Punk Thuggerverse fantasy. Filled with new ideas and possibilities, this new realm makes the impossible possible, literally going out with the old and in with the new, with Thug posing the question of what it means to be “punk” in today’s world.

This month, Thugger celebrated turning 30 with a house party in his home city of Atlanta, appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine and released his Tiny Desk (Home) Concert, where he astounded viewers everywhere as he previewed new music from the forthcoming project, signaling a new era for him both sonically and aesthetically.

Recognized worldwide as the godfather of new wave rap, Young Thug has broken convention at every single turn and reinvented the sound of popular music; his Grammy award-winning, platinum-selling records have paved the way for generations beyond him. In 2020, he achieved 14 Billboard charting hits with no album release and released records by artists including Gunna and Lil Keed through Young Stoner Life Records, of which he is the Founder and CEO.

Now in 2021, Young Thug leads the charge as a certified cultural tycoon. In addition to hitting No. 1 on the Billboard charts with Slime Language 2 the album, and owning multiple hugely successful businesses, Thug continues to challenge and redefine the boundaries of culture in his vision of the future.
