Yukon Blonde reveal the first taste of their forthcoming LP with the funk-laden new track “Saturday Night.” Working with engineer and co-producer Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Dan Mangan, Sleepy Sun) at The Hive throughout 2014, and mixer Tony Hoffer (M83, Beck, Foster the People, Air, Depeche Mode) the band prepare to expand their reputation for seamlessly crafted pop songs, cocktails of psychedelic and synthetic sounds on its upcoming record.
A true weekend jammer, the track is contagious and cool in both indie and poppy way. Yukon Blonde are a force of nature with their trade-marked hard-hitting choruses and the strong and unique hooks.
As Paste Mag put it: “Saturday Night sounds like a track to play before a night on the town during a weekend of endless possibilities, with a triumphant chorus and dynamic landscapes of psychedelic and synth pop waves that’ll have you ready to go late into the evening. Of course, it’s also possible you may wear yourself out dancing before you even make it outside.”
Currently performing at the SXSW this week and joining Lieutenant (Nate Mendel, bassist for Foo Fighters & Sunny Day Real Estate) on the road in March, see all dates below.
