Track appears on forthcoming The Comeback

CMA Awards Vocal Group of the Year 2021 nominee, Zac Brown Band, is sharing more new music with the feel-good track “Fun Having Fun.” Written by GRAMMY Award-winning lead singer Zac Brown alongside Kenny Habul, Kurt Thomas and Ben Simonetti, the song is featured on their forthcoming new album, The Comeback, which is set for release on October 15th via Warner Music Nashville/Home Grown Music.

“‘Fun Having Fun’ is about all the dumb stuff you do when you’re a kid,” explains Brown. “One of my co-writers on the track is actually my buddy Kurt (Thomas), who I went to high school with in Dahlonega. He and I made a demo tape when we were kids called KZ, for Kurt & Zac, and he was the first guy I ever sat down with and thought, ‘We’re gonna be big.’ It was fun to circle back to that time in my life and remember some of the things that we did together, especially with the perspective of now being a parent. We really wanted to include a bluegrass-type song on this album, and ‘Fun Having Fun’ was definitely the right one.”

The Comeback also features the unifying lead single, “Same Boat,” which has already accumulated more than 40 million streams worldwide and is rapidly approaching Top 10 at country radio. Entirely co-written and co-produced by Brown, the new record is the band’s latest since their 2019 release of The Owl, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 Chart and showcased the dynamic melodies and genre-bending sounds they have long been known for. The album included their hit single “Someone I Used To Know,” which won a CMT Award for Group Video of the Year

With The Comeback Tour underway, Zac Brown Band is celebrating the collective resilience of our community, giving fans an opportunity to stage their comeback. This summer, Zac Brown Band has dazzled audiences with the release of five new tracks that are deeply rooted in their iconic, original southern rock sound. The highly anticipated single, “Same Boat,” marked the band’s first song with their new record label, Warner Music Nashville/Home Grown Music, and was recorded at the renowned Southern Ground Nashville studio. The clap-along arrangements feature contributions from the entire band, with melodic vocal harmonies, brisk percussion, and the lively violin. Caroline Jones joins as the lone female in the band.
