Band has pulled out of Nashville NYE Bash on CBS
Zac Brown Band will no longer be performing at New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash tomorrow (Fri, Dec 31st) night on CBS as frontman and namesake Brown has tested positive for COVID-19 for a second time. Brown shared the news in a statement on Thursday (Dec 30th), saying, all precautions were taken.
“Despite taking precautions, I’ve tested positive for COVID-19,” Brown writes. “While we were very excited to join the incredible line up of artists and millions of amazing fans tuning in to watch, our No. 1 priority is the safety and well-being of our fans, band, crew and venue staff. We’re looking forward to great things ahead and seeing you all on our tour next year.”
New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash is a star-studded entertainment special hosted by radio and TV personality Bobby Bones and co-hosted by Entertainment Tonight‘s Rachel Smith. The celebration will air live from Music City on Friday, December 31st 8-11 pm ET/PT and 11:30 pm-1:30 am ET/PT on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
Lady A, Ingrid Andress, Breland, King Calaway, Riley Green, Sam Hunt, Chris Janson, Jon Pardi, Carly Pearce, Lainey Wilson, Jason Aldean, Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Luke Bryan, Elle King, Miranda Lambert, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, and Cole Swindell are all still set to perform from various places around Nashville.
The special event will feature once-in-a-lifetime collaborations with artists inviting special guests and artist friends to perform together throughout the night. Taking on their biggest hits and performing covers of some of the most iconic country music songs of all time, collaborations will be stacked throughout the lineup.
Similar instances have occurred across the country including LL Cool J contracting COVID-19 and being forced to cancel a headlining appearance at the 50th anniversary of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest on ABC.
