The purposeful EP will be available this fall

Drake White will release his highly-anticipated EP, The Bridge, on October 6th. The seven-song collection of inspiration, love and purpose is the follow-up to White’s full-length 2022 album The Optimystic, his second studio album that shares the story of an incredible journey to recovery from an on-stage stroke in 2019. The Bridge marks a new era for White beyond his recovery where he re-discovers himself and the purpose in his life. Blended with new songs and alternative versions of The Optimystic fan-favorites, White co-wrote on all seven, co-produced on four, and produced the last three tracks on his own.

“The Webster dictionary defines a bridge as a structure carrying a pathway or roadway over a depression or obstacle,” White explains. “This is the bridge taking me to back to why I started making music in the first place.”

With two of the tracks released earlier this summer, the remaining hits consist of a noteworthy duet between White and Grammy-winning artist Colbie Caillat for a special rendition of “Power of a Woman,” a raw rough-cut track of “50 Years Too Late,” a co-write collaboration with Nashville heavy-hitters Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd, plus more.

The EP announcement follows White’s recent release, “Ladder To The Sky” a deeply moving song that places a from-the-heart emphasis on the comfort found in being a part of something bigger than tangible Earth and learning to trust the path ahead. White teased the demo on Instagram and wrote, “I’m guilty of always pushing to what’s next. This is to remind me that we control very little in this life. Just keep climbing, and you’ll end up exactly where you need to be.”

White first previewed his upcoming EP in late June with the release of “Spirit,” a swaying traveler’s anthem with a hard-won sense of inner peace.

Starting October 20th in Fort Worth, Texas, White will embark on his co-headlining Blow Up Your TV Tour with Texas country hitmaker William Clark Green. The run will feature 15 dates spread out across the Western half of the U.S., including stops in Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Minneapolis and more before finishing on December 9th in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
