Clarkson reveals title of tenth project

Kelly Clarkson has revealed that her forthcoming tenth studio album is called Chemistry. The pop star shared the news in an Instagram video on Sunday (Mar 26th), explaining the title more in depth.

“I’ve been working on this project for, well, close to three years now, and I wasn’t sure I was going to release it but I am,” she shares. “The album is called Chemistry. It’s called Chemistry because I was trying to find a word — also it might be one of the songs on the album — but I was trying to find a word that really describes the whole thing. ‘Cause I didn’t want everybody to think I was coming out with some just like, ‘I’m angry. I’m sad.’ Just one or two emotions. This album is definitely the arc of an entire relationship. A whole relationship shouldn’t be just brought down to one thing, so there’s the good, the bad, the ugly kinda thing going on in it. Chemistry can be a really amazing, sexy, cool, fun thing, but it can also be very bad for you. So that’s why I named it Chemistry. I thought it was kinda the perfect title to describe the entire album.”

Clarkson doesn’t reveal the album’s release date, but says it’s “coming soon” with the first taste of music coming “even sooner.” Further details are to be announced.

Earlier this year in a social media Q&A with fans, Clarkson confirmed the album was coming in 2023.

The project will be her first music of all new material in six years. Meaning of Life was released in 2017 and was nominated for a Grammy. Last June, the Grammy Award winning original American Idol released Kellyoke EPfeaturing six newly recorded studio versions of some of her favorite covers she’s performed on The Kelly Clarkson Show. She released her ninth studio record and second holiday record,When Christmas Comes Around…,” in fall 2021, featuring a mix of new original songs and Christmas classics.

Clarkson can been seen daily hosting the fourth season of her eponymous talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, which has been renewed for through 2025. The show airs in all 211 local markets in premier time periods across the country. Clarkson executive produces the hourlong talker with distribution by NBCUniversal Syndication Studios.
