The rocker will play before Trump speaks
Kid Rock is in Milwaukee where he is scheduled to perform at the 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC). The outspoken conservative star and staunch Donald Trump supporter will play directly before President Trump’s speech tonight (Thurs, July 18th) in which he is expected to accept the GOP nomination from earlier in the week.
“We just arrived in Milwaukee to support our try-and-true, red white, and blue, one hundred percent American Bad Ass president. What’s gonna happen tonight? Tune into find out. But here’s a hint, are you scared? God bless Donald Trump. God bless America,” Rock says on social media.
Video circulating online shows Rock rehearsing “American Bad Ass,” replacing many of the lyrics to support Trump’s re-election campaign in becoming the 47th President of the United States in November.
“They call me cowboy, I’m the singer in black / Throw a fist in the air and let me see where you’re at / Say, ‘Fight, fight’ (fight, fight) / Say, ‘Fight, fight’ (fight, fight) / Say, ‘Fight, fight’ (fight, fight) / Say, ‘Trump, Trump’,” he sings in homage of surviving an assassination attempt last weekend during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Rock is expected to perform just after 9 pm CT followed by Trump speaking, closing the weeklong event.
Rock is among the celebrities who donated money to a GoFundMe set up by Trump’s campaign to help the victims of the shooting. Rock donated $50,000 to the efforts which have raised more than $5.3 million in less than a week.
Volunteer firefighter Corey Comperatore was killed in the shooting as he used his body to shield family members from the bullets. Two other victims were listed in stable condition following the incident.
Trump was injured in the shooting as a bullet grazed his right ear. The Secret Service killed the 20-year-old shooter who was perched on a nearby rooftop.
