Ate is the group’s fifth chart-topping Billboard project
Stray Kids captures its fifth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with its latest release Ate via JYP Entertainment/Imperial/Republic Records. The achievement makes history, marking the first group to debut at No. 1 with their first five charting albums. In addition, the album captures No. 1 on the World Albums Chart and Top Album Sales chart.
The new album, Ate, becomes the biggest US debut for any K-pop act in 2024 and marks the first Korean act to have five full studio projects debut at the top of the Billboard 200.
In addition, the lead album single “Chk Chk Boom” has become Stray Kids’ highest charting song of all time, debuting at No. 49 on the Billboard Hot 100, and is now the group’s fastest-selling single ever in the US. The single also made its debut at No. 4 on Billboard Global Excl. US and No. 10 on Billboard Global 200.
The album’s chart success follows 2022’s Oddinary and Maxident and 2023’s Rock-Star and ★★★★★ (5-Star). The group bests Alicia Keys record in 2007, solidifying the group’s explosive transformation from underdogs to global dominators.
Earlier this month, Stray Kids took the stage headlining the I-Days music festival in Milan followed by BST Hyde Park in London. This weekend, the group will headline Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 2nd, heating up the summer of 2024 by headlining three major music festivals. Earlier this year, Stray Kids released “Lose My Breath,” an epic collaboration with Charlie Puth.
In November 2023, Stray Kids won the Top K-Pop Album Award for ★★★★★ (5-Star) at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards. This marked Stray Kids as “the first fourth-generation K-pop boy band to win the award” and also “second only to BTS in terms of all K-pop boy groups.” This year, the group has continued to dominate global awards shows, taking home Group of the Year at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards in February and K-Pop Album of the Year at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards in April.
