AC/DC announces final wave of limited edition 50th anniversary vinyl reissues

Six more classic albums come to the format in gold-colored vinyl

To honor AC/DC’s 50-year reign as the world’s greatest rock and roll band, Columbia and Legacy Recordings have announced the final wave of AC/DC gold-colored vinyl reissues. Each of these limited edition LPs comes with an album-specific 12-inch by 12-inch print featuring new AC/DC 50 artwork, suitable for framing.

The final wave of AC/DC 50 gold vinyl releases includes six more classic releases, completing the set of one of the greatest collections of rock ‘n’ roll albums of all time. Flick Of The Switch, Fly On The Wall, Blow Up Your Video, Black Ice, Live At River Plate, and their latest album, Power Up, will be available on September 27th.

Flick of the Switch is a self-produced album that saw the band return to the rawer sound of their earlier records. Tracks like “Bedlam In Belgium” and “Nervous Shakedown” still remain firm fan favorites 40 years later.

1985’s Fly on the Wall was the band’s first to be produced solely by Angus and Malcolm Young. It was accompanied by a long-form video of the same name, which saw the band playing five tracks from the album in a club full of shady characters and an animated fly, like the one featured on the album cover.

Blow Up Your Video, initially released in 1988 and recorded in London and the South of France, contains the UK hit single “Heatseeker” and the US rock hit “That’s The Way I Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

Issued in the Fall of 2008, Black Ice saw the band working with producer Brendan O’Brien for the first time. They have since worked together on Rock Or Bust in 2014 and Power Up in 2020. Black Ice was AC/DC’s first UK No. 1 album since Back In Black and their first US No. 1 since For Those About To Rock.

Live at River PLate was recorded, along with a David Mallet-directed live film, on December 4, 2009 at the second of three sold-out shows at the legendary River Plate Stadium in Sao Paolo, Argentina, on the Black Ice Tour, in front of a crowd of over 60,000.

AC/DC’s latest album, Power Up, released in November 2020, was their first in six years. Released to fan and critical acclaim, it topped the charts in 21 countries, and the resulting European tour saw the band perform to over one million fans.

AC/DC’s Power Up Tour 2024 has seen the band perform to over 1.3 million ecstatic fans across Europe, including 160,000 over two nights at London’s legendary Wembley Stadium.

Fans have also flocked to the AC/DC Dive Bars in Gelsenkirchen, Seville, Munich and London, with tens of thousands checking out iconic props, getting AC/DC tattoos, meeting other fans, and picking up exclusive merch. The final AC/DC High Voltage Dive Bar will be in Paris on the 12th and 13th of August at the Galerie Au Rois, 73-75 Rue De La Fontaine Au Roi, 70011.

In the USA, the RIAA has certified that AC/DC has now sold over 90 million albums in America. The band has also reached the milestone of over one billion streams in the UK.
