Tracy Lawrence inducted into Texas Country Music Hall of Fame

Lawrence joins Texas greats at the Carthage location

Country music icon and philanthropist Tracy Lawrence joined the ranks of Texas greats this past weekend in Carthage, Texas, where he was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Lawrence, a Texas native, also took to the stage to perform his country classic “Texas Tornado.” Other 2024 inductees included Roy Orbison and the Mandrell Sisters.

“I’m so honored. For those who don’t know, I was born in Atlanta, Texas. I appreciate your graciousness and hospitality of everyone here in Carthage, it’s been such a great day for us,” Lawrence said at the ceremony. “It’s not really a job, it’s a lifestyle. I love it. I still love it as much as I ever did.”

Lawrence has earned his right to the induction with a decorated career, notching over one billion global streams, 13 million albums sold, and 18 No. 1 singles. Hits like “Time Marches On,” “Paint Me A Birmingham,” “Find Out Who Your Friends Are” and more have solidified Lawrence’s spot in country music – from the ’90s until now.

The 90s country legend recently released his Out Here In It EP this June, his first body of work in three years. The six-track collection features cuts from some of Nashville’s hottest songwriters including Rodney Clawson, Devin Dawson, Jacob Durrett, Wyatt McCubbin, Lee Thomas Miller, Ernest Keith Smith and more.

Lawrence continues to connect and collaborate with the next generation of country stars, recently wrapping up a run with Riley Green on his 33-stop Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour. In addition to tours, Lawrence provides a platform for the latest country stars to share their stories on TL’s Road House podcast, which has featured guests such as Hardy, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson and more.
