NCT Dream drops ‘Rains in Heaven’

The new English single is available ahead of the band’s American tour

NCT Dream returns with their new single “Rains in Heaven” via SM Entertainment and Virgin Music. The English-language track, featuring lyrics co-written by member Mark, is available digitally and on streaming now.

“Rains in Heaven” is an ethereal 80s synth-pop song defined by a rhythmic blend of drums and bass, creating a soothing soundscape onto which NCT Dream project their captivating vocals. The lyrics are co-written by Mark with Adrian McKinnon (who works regularly with NCT and EXO) and British pop songwriter Bryn Christopher (who has worked with Sigala and Louis Tomlinson). It offers empathy for anyone feeling overwhelmed, with an added promise to be a source of strength and comfort to those who need it, highlighted by lyrics like: “I know that you feel alone / I know that you lost all hope / But I’m always / Always by your side.”

“Rains in Heaven” arrives amid the K-pop group’s third world tour The Dream Show 3: Dream()Scape with stops in Latin America, the United States, and Europe. The US leg will kick off with a highly anticipated show in Los Angeles at the Intuit Dome on September 12th, followed by shows in Oakland, Fort Worth, Washington, DC, and more.

The multi-million-selling group earned the sixth best-selling album globally in 2023 with their third studio album ISTJ (according to the IFPI Global Charts), which has sold more than 4.32 million copies. In 2024, they have only continued their upward trajectory with a follow-up EP Dream()Scape, which beat their own first-day sales record from ISTJ. It is the group’s fifth consecutive release to sell over two million copies.
